The second day camping we (about 30 of us) drove farther up to go on a nature trail hike. We had to pay to have a guide go with groups of 10. You didn't really need a guide to go with you, but I think it helps them make sure people don't destroy things and also a way to earn money. It was a beautiful hike! Here are some pictures from the morning.
Two of my favorite high school girls and our cool hats- waiting to start the hike! |
Josh had a "great" idea to climb down these HUGE steps- but then we had to climb back up! This was before we even started the hike! |
View from the parking lot- overlooking another packing lot |
Start of the trail |
If you make this photo larger you should be able to read the info about the tropical cloud forest- it occupies 0.3% of the earth (land) surface |
The fence to keep the barking deer off the trail?!?! |
almost to the top |
Look out point where we ate lunch |
We had separated into groups- but we joined the second group at this point |
I had this great idea for a photo...but it didn't really work |
Walking along the edge |
"I am sure it will be fun to roll down the hill, girls!" |
sometimes there were fences...sometimes there weren't |
"Oh, put your head on this sign it is so cool and it feels good!" Crazy girls! |
You can kind of see two men in this photo- they had put cement blocks on their backs and were hiking up the trail to improve the path...they had been doing most of the time we were hiking. |
I love your blog!
