Camping part 3

The second day camping we (about 30 of us) drove farther up to go on a nature trail hike. We had to pay to have a guide go with groups of 10. You didn't really need a guide to go with you, but I think it helps them make sure people don't destroy things and also a way to earn money. It was a beautiful hike! Here are some pictures from the morning.
Two of my favorite high school girls and our cool hats- waiting to start the hike!

Josh had a "great" idea to climb down these HUGE steps- but then we had to climb back up!
This was before we even started the hike!

View from the parking lot- overlooking another packing lot

Start of the trail

If you make this photo larger you should be able to read the info about the
tropical cloud forest- it occupies 0.3% of the earth (land) surface

The fence to keep the barking deer off the trail?!?!

almost to the top

Look out point where we ate lunch

We had separated into groups- but we joined the second group at this point

I had this great idea for a photo...but it didn't really work

Walking along the edge

"I am sure it will be fun to roll down the hill, girls!"

sometimes there were fences...sometimes there weren't

This sign was laying on the ground- we were "among the wild" but I am not sure if it was referring to us or the forest!
We had to have someone stand in just the right spot to make a shadow so you could read the words!

"Oh, put your head on this sign it is so cool and it feels good!"
Crazy girls!

You can kind of see two men in this photo- they had put cement blocks on their backs and were
hiking up the trail to improve the path...they had been doing most of the time we were hiking.
